Greater than John the Baptist

"For I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” Luke 7:28, NKJV.
Think about that verse for a moment. John the Baptist was the greatest of prophets and we know that John announced and prepared the way for the ministry of Jesus on this earth. John however lived under the old testament covenant.
We as Christians, children of God and members of His Kingdom, live with all the benefits of our new testament relationship with God. Lets reflect on that relationship!

Growing up in Christ

"For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food." Hebrews 5:12, NKJV. The writer of the book of Hebrews exhorted his readers to grow up in their Christian life. They were born again but stuck on the basics of salvation, baptism, faith and other foundational aspects of Christianity. As Christian we need to be immersed in the Word of God, allowing God to teach us and grow us so that we can walk in all He has for us, all His blessings and all He has for us to do. We are His hands, His feet and His voice in this earth., His ambassadors, His witnesses. Amen.

Demonstrate Christ in your life!

"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity." 1 Tim 4:12; NKJV.

The apostle Paul exhorted his spiritual son Timothy to demonstrate the Christian life to Christians' under his leadership. Timothy was to do this in his God directed speech to them, by how he lived his life before them, in the way God's loved flowed through him, the demonstration of a life directed by the Spirit and by his faith, and sinless, moral purity!

In Titus 2:10 we are exhorted to "adorn" the doctrine of God. We could say we are to adorn, make attractive, beautify and decorate the word of God by showing its powerful working in our lives to the world around us, wow! Folks do watch and listen to us Christians', what do they see and hear? Food for thought.

God's divine power

"As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." 2 Peter 1:2-4. NKJV.
Wow, God's very own power makes available to us the ability to be like Him, walking in His divine nature as we discover His precious promises to us in His word! Makes you want to just consume the Bible, Yes?

God's Word

"God's Word is truth" (John 17:17) "and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). "Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path" (Psalm:105).
Wow, God's Word is so wonderful, so powerful, entirely true, setting us free from all that lets or hinders us, everything in our past. His Word is a guide for our lives, enabling us to live the life God has for us. Read your Bible, it will revolutionize your life.
